Map Configuration

Map Basics

Once you've created a map, you can configure its basic settings:

  1. Select your map from the sidebar
  2. Click on "Config" (represented by the gear icon in the top right of the main panel)
  3. In the "Map Basics" Tab, select the Zabbix server you want to use for this map

More Settings (Customization)

Within the "Config" section, click the "More Settings" tab to customize the visual appearance of your map:

  • Map Colors: Change the background color of the map
  • Grid Colors: Adjust the color of the grid lines
  • Grid Size: Change the spacing of the grid (helps with aligning hosts and objects)

Experiment with different color schemes and grid settings to create a map that is both informative and visually appealing. A subtle grid can be very helpful for alignment.

Remember to save your changes after making adjustments!

Customization Options

MapZ offers extensive customization options to make your maps visually appealing and informative:

  • Color Options: Change colors of hosts, objects, connections, and map background
  • Icons: Use different icons to represent different types of devices
  • Images: Add custom images to objects for a more personalized look

Explore the "Properties" windows for hosts, objects, and connections to discover all available customization options.

Resizing Hosts and Objects

You can resize hosts and objects to emphasize their importance or fit more information:

  1. Select a node or object by clicking on it, a green box will appear around it
  2. Hover over the green line until the resize handles appear
  3. Drag these handles to resize the item

Saving Your Map

Save your work regularly by clicking the "Save" button (floppy disk icon) in the top right corner.

MapZ currently saves your map history, but a rollback feature is not yet implemented. Saving regularly is crucial to avoid losing your work.
